Fred, for one!! But also, we’re not consultants; we’re coaches. Consultants claim to give you the ‘right’ answers. We know there are no right answers in this process. Instead, we’re teaching you how to get to know, own, and communicate your best self.
That manifests in three other important differentiators:

How do you define your success metrics?
We define our own success by three things:
- Clients reporting that working with us changed their lives for the better, above and beyond acceptance to top schools.
- Noticeable personal and professional growth for our clients in terms of self-awareness, confidence, communication, and other executive soft skills.
- Each client’s ability to say that they did their very best in their application and that THEY know that their submissions reflect their authentic best self.
We also care deeply about the ways in which our clients measure their own success: Acceptances to their top choice schools and scholarships.
We started meticulously tracking every client outcome in the 2021-22 cycle, so we have extremely accurate numbers on where they applied and gained admission, where they didn’t, and where they were offered scholarships.
Before 2021-22, we have accurate numbers on whether clients gained admission, where they were admitted, and what scholarships they were offered. We can’t give accurate acceptance rates on a school-by-school basis pre-2021 because we didn’t always track if someone applied somewhere they didn’t gain acceptance.

What results can you promise me?
We can’t promise any specific results in terms of admissions or scholarships. We don’t control the outcome (unfortunately!!).
We have an incredibly strong track record, per the success metrics above, but your outcomes will depend on you.
Our process works because we guide our clients to communicate authentically in their applications. Authenticity is charismatic. It has a unique energy to it that schools can’t resist. It’s the hallmark of a true leader.
What we do promise is that if you do the work, you will know that you’re submitting applications that reflect the best of who you are in the most inspiring light. You will be proud of your work and confident that you have done the best you can do for yourself in your applications. Not because we said so, but because you know it yourself in your heart.
What’s the timeline for your services? When should I sign up?
The real work for R1 begins in June and goes through the application deadline. The work for R2 begins in October and goes until December 20 (so we can all enjoy the holidays).
We love it when folks sign up much earlier, because:
- They get their choice of coach
- They can get started laying the groundwork earlier (networking with schools, school research, career game planning, even resume development)
So here’s our advice about signing up. As soon as you know these two things, jump in:
- You are 100% sure you want to apply this year (for the upcoming R1 or R2 deadline)
- You are 100% sure you want to work with us
From the moment you sign up, you get access to all of our resources to simplify your life. You also get access to your coach to keep things efficient, productive, and fun. Why wait any longer? When you know, you know!
What does the general coaching process look like?
In addition to all the awesome resources in our portal, the amazing process we’re guiding you through (explained elsewhere on this page), and all the amazing group coaching calls you’ll join over the year(s), the heart of the work is a series of video calls, emails, and document exchanges directly with your coach.
You’ll be in fairly constant contact with your coach during peak essay season (June – August for R1 and October – December for R2), but we dictate communication format based on the task at hand. It ends up being a lot of calls, but we get on Zoom when we really need a two-way dialogue.
You’ll have access to our progress-tracking spreadsheet so you can track your work, and we trust you to self-manage your deliverables and do the work. We don’t schedule standing calls or check-in calls purely for accountability.
A good metaphor for working with us is like martial arts training. You hand yourself over to the master, who leads you through a process of personal development. The work is all yours; the tools and structure are all ours.
Do you only work with certain types of individuals?
