This policy explains what personal information Career Protocol LLC collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We're the company behind MBA Protocol, Happy at Work, MBAmo, Interview Hero, Communicate Yourself and Humble Overachievers. We're based at 3108 Old Denton Road #115-237, Carrollton, TX 75007, USA.

It covers these sites and their subdomains: careerprotocol.com, mbaprotocol.com, happyatwork.com, mbamo.com, interviewhero.com, communicateyourself.com, humbleoverachievers.com, humbleoverachievers.club, angelaguido.com, friendmo.com and generousmode.com. It also covers our emails, our community on Mighty Networks, and our coaching.

Questions or requests about your data: [email protected].

For EU and UK data protection law, Career Protocol LLC is the "controller" of your personal information: we decide how it's used.

1. What we collect

What you give us

  • Contact details: your name, email, and anything else you type into a form, such as your country, phone number or LinkedIn profile.
  • Your answers in our tools: what you enter in MBAmo (test scores, GPA, work experience and the schools you're considering), your Story Quiz answers, and your answers on the consult request form.
  • Interview debriefs you share with us about a school's interview.
  • Purchases: what you bought and when. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them. Paid PDFs are personalized with the buyer's email address.
  • Messages and community activity: emails to us, chat messages, and what you post in our community. If you join a free webinar or public event, your name, image, voice and chat messages may appear in its recording, which we may share publicly.
  • Admission outcomes you report to us, which we use to build our published results.

If you're a coaching client

You'll also share application materials with your coach (essays, resumes, recommendation notes, test scores, work history). These often include personal details, and we use them only to coach you. Group sessions are recorded for replay in our private client community. One-on-one sessions are recorded so you can watch them again, and those recordings are shared only with you and your coach. The full rules for both are in your Terms of Purchase.

What we collect automatically

  • Cookies and similar tools: see section 4.
  • Usage data: pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and your approximate location from your IP address.
  • Email engagement: whether you open our emails and which links you click.

Our coaches are independent professionals working with us under confidentiality obligations. They see what you share with them for your coaching.

Like most businesses, some of the tools we use have AI features. We treat them like any other service on this list: they process information only to provide their service to us.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.

4. Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use three kinds:

  • Essential: to keep the sites working, secure and logged in, and to keep the Interview Guides and Career Report unlocked for up to a year after you confirm your email. A few of these hold your email address in encrypted form, so the site knows the unlock link was really yours. These are always on.
  • Statistics: Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages people use.
  • Marketing: HubSpot's tracking cookie, which links your visits to the forms you fill in so we can follow up with what's relevant to you, and a small Story Quiz cookie that remembers which campaign link brought you to the quiz, for 30 days.

We also use your browser's own storage to fill in forms you've already started and to remember display choices, like the school you picked to highlight in the Career Report. It can also note which link brought you to a tool. That stays on your device unless you submit a form.

If you're in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, statistics and marketing cookies stay off until you say yes in our cookie banner. Everyone else sees a notice and can switch them off. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Our sites don't respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there's no common standard for them; the cookie settings above are how you control tracking.

5. Where your data goes and how long we keep it

We're a US company, so your information is processed in the United States and wherever our services run. When data leaves the EU or the UK, we rely on our providers' approved safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We keep your information for as long as it's useful for working with you, including if you come back to reapply or as an alum. That covers your customer record, your coaching files and the admission outcomes you report, which we keep with your name. We publish outcomes in anonymized form, except in testimonials and success stories you've agreed to share. Those appear exactly as you asked when you sent them, with your real name or a pseudonym and your own photo or a stand-in image, and they stay up until you ask us to take them down. Group session recordings stay in our private client community for as long as it exists. Payment and tax records are kept for seven years, as tax law requires. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending you marketing emails.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time (section 6). We will, unless the law or an open dispute requires us to keep something.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • show you the personal information we hold about you, or send you a copy
  • correct it
  • delete it
  • limit how we use it
  • stop using it for marketing

If you're in the EU, the UK or a place with similar laws, you can also object to uses based on our legitimate interest (including group recordings), move your data to another service, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the address we have on file, or tell us how we can confirm it's you. We'll reply within one month, using our website's export and erase tools for what our sites hold and asking our services to do the same for what they hold. Some information we may have to keep, for example tax records or anything tied to a dispute, and we'll tell you if so.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

US residents: some states, including California and Texas, give you privacy rights. We honor the requests above for everyone, whether or not your state's law applies to a business our size.

7. Keeping it safe

We use secure, reputable services, two-factor login on our accounts, and encrypted devices for client files. No system is perfectly secure, so if a breach ever puts your information at real risk, we'll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

8. Children

Our sites and services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.

9. Other sites

Our pages link to other sites and embed content such as YouTube and Vimeo videos. Videos on our pages, such as the homepage and the reviews page, load from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo only when you press play. From then on, that site's own privacy policy and cookies apply, and we're not responsible for them.

10. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change matters to how we use your information, we'll tell our clients and subscribers by email.
