Booth MBA. BCG consultant. Accidental career coach.

I’m entering my 20th year as an MBA admissions consultant. I’ve stuck around in this career for so long (despite having what I presume is undiagnosed ADHD and a huge penchant for experimentation and then eventually boredom) because I never tire of helping people achieve their potential.

I started my admissions consulting career after 5 years at The Boston Consulting Group. Having developed a reverence for data and a love of digging into it to see what it says, I was shocked to find that nowhere on the internet was there a consistent dataset about MBA placement statistics across top schools. Each school puts out slightly different data in different ways and even formats (Booth gives you a csv file, other schools publish a flat webpage). There was simply no way to compare school career placement results easily and in an apples-to-apples way. And as far as I am aware, apart from this document, there still isn’t.

Given what a huge investment an MBA is and how pivotal it is to the careers of my clients, I decided to create that dataset myself. You deserve to know what you’re buying with business school. You deserve to be able to chart a course to the career of your dreams. And you deserve to know how and how effectively each school helps you do that. This document you hold in your eyeballs is your access to that information. I hope it helps you on your journey.

The MBA opens doors to experiences and opportunities that most of us could never get access to otherwise. Yes, still. Even in the age of AI. The MBA isn’t for everyone, but if it is for you (and this guide will help you decide if you’re on the fence) then my team and I have all the tools to help you get in (usually with scholarships).

We’d love to talk to you about your dreams and how we can help you achieve them. Request a call with us any time.

How we got this data and some caveats

Actually wait, one more note. Building this report is a beatdown. Schools make it really hard to do this analysis. We only publish it once every two years because it takes so much team effort to get it done. This year, Kiarash (our Analyst) and Claude both gave heroic efforts to source, clean, and analyze this data.

Our sources:

100% of placement data came from schools themselves in their annual reports they published on their websites or other releases.

Additional acceptance rates, class composition statistics, admission, and rankings data came from Poets&Quants and U.S. News & World Report.

Our work process:

I (Angela) designed this analysis based on what we’ve done in the past and the questions we and our clients have these days vis-à-vis MBA employment. I also wrote most of the report, using AI to achieve concision vis-à-vis my usually longwinded approach (see past reports for evidence. LOL.)

Kiarash, our data analyst, led the collection, cleaning, compiling, and analyzing of this year’s data. He used Claude to clean the data, categorize companies into industries, match company names against USCIS H-1B sponsorship records, and cross-check our AI durability scores against the Anthropic Economic Index's measured data. He’s honestly a ninja and if you like this report, please buy him a coffee.

We cross-checked the crap out of this thing – Kiarash, Claude, and I. Any datapoint that didn’t make sense was challenged and either defended or fixed. Many errors were caught on the way by each of us. If a judgment call needed to be made, a human did it. That said, I am sure one or two things slipped through the cracks. If you find an error, email us: [email protected] and let us know.

The fine print, like who’s included and what a blank means, is at the start of the Chart Zone.

Ok. NOW let’s get into it.

That’s the whole report. Now what?

If you made it all the way back here, I already know something about you: you do your homework. Good. That’s exactly the kind of person who gets into business school.

What the data can’t do is tell your story for you. That part is yours, and if you’ll allow us, we’ll also make it ours. There is nothing we love more than helping our clients discover their story and tell it in their own most inspiring voice and win scholarships (an average of $109,000 each in the last 3 years, did I mention?)
